The Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN) supported by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission jointly hosted the International Technology Transfer Congress on the 25 – 27th of April 2013, in Beijing.
Budapest, April 24, 2013 – For the first time in Hungary, an international conference on seismic base isolation was held at the National Innovation Office (NIO) on the 24th of April 2013. Along with more than 90 participants, a Chinese delegation, led by professor Fu Lin Zhou and Mr. Ning Xiang Liang, CEO of the Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology, attended the workshop.
In a significant step towards its goal of advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in Hungary, CEU Business School signed a cooperation agreement with the National Innovation Office of the Hungarian Government in late February. The National Innovation Office is the governmental body responsible for research, development and technological innovation. It operates under the direction of the Minister for National Economy.
The Air Transport Net (AirTN) FP7 project held its recent Board meeting in Budapest at the premises of the National Innovation Office on the 21st and 22nd of March. The project in which NIH is a project partner works in the field of aeronautics and air transport research and innovation.

The HVCA (Hungarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) organises for the fifteenth time, in cooperation with Portfolio.hu, for the fifth time, and for the first time with CEU Business School as a Strategic Knowledge Partner, the most significant industry conference for corporate finance and venture capital professionals within the region.

The IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) is one of the two flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society, together with IEEE Globecom. In 2013 the IEEE ICC conference will be held for the first time in Eastern Europe, previous conferences being organized in cities such as Ottawa (2012), Kyoto (2011), Cape Town (2010), Dresden (2009), Beijing (2008), Glasgow (2007), Istanbul (2006), Seoul (2005), Paris (2004) or Anchorage (2003). In 2014 the conference will be hosted by Sydney.

The Smart Cities Stakeholder Platform Annual Conference will bring together technology developers, city representatives, high-level financial managers and EU-level policy makers from across the European Union. Twenty-six highly acknowledged researchers including three winners of the Momentum programme became corresponding members of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences at the election held on the first day of the General Assembly. According to the Statutes of MTA, members can be elected from among scientists who hold Doctor of the Academy or other equivalent scientific degrees and "who cultivate their fields of science on a well-recognised, extremely high and creative level."

Four Hungarian companies are showing at Mobilitec, a business platform for hybrid and electric mobility technologies that is part of technology trade fair Hannover Messe, with the assistance of the Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA).
National Development Minister Zsuzsanna Németh and Azerbaijan's minister for communications and information technology Ali Abbasov discussed bilateral IT and ICT data transmission development opportunities in Baku on Sunday, state secretary Vilmos Vályi-Nagy told MTI after the talks.

The Directorate General Enterprise and Industry of European Commission published the „Innovation Union Scoreboard 2013” document on 26 March 2013. Innovation is crucial if we want to maintain our global competitiveness and restore growth in Europe. The Innovation Union Scoreboard 2013 provides a comparative assessment of the research and innovation performance of the EU27 Member States and the relative strengths and weaknesses of their research and innovation systems. It helps Member States assess areas in which they need to concentrate their efforts in order to boost their innovation performance.
