According to the Decree No. 160/2001. (IX.12.) of the Hungarian Government every organisation, getting public finance for its research or development activities, is obliged to give detailed information on its projects for the National Research Registry.

The Registry (a database of research projects, researchers and research units) is maintained by the National Technical Information Centre and Library in the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, under technical control of the Ministry of Education.
