Előzetes tájékoztató az AAL-2008-1 felhívásra beérkezett pályázatokról
The first call for proposals (AAL-2008-1) of the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme with a deadline on 21 August 2008 was very well accepted by the AAL community: A total of 117 transnational project proposals – with at least partners from 3 AAL Partner States involved – will be transferred to the central evaluation starting in this week.

Organisations from all AAL Partner States are represented in AAL proposals and project coordinators stem from 19 countries of the 23 AAL Partner States.

950 partners are counted in the transnational project proposals, so 8 partners formed one project consortium on average (range: minimum 3, maximum 19). Total costs of some 370 Mio € were indicated and 230 Mio € are requested as public funding, i.e. short below 2 Mio € per project proposal on average. The total request constitutes a four times oversubscription compared to an announced indicative total funding of 57.7 Mio € (25 Mio € from the EC and 32.7 Mio € from Partners States).

The formal eligibility check will be performed in parallel to and after the evaluation according to the eligibility criteria published within the call. Each funding organisation will use its national funding rules, so some partners or projects may be not eligible in the end. However, the first impression is that the participation rules of the AAL Joint Programme were overall well understood.

The final selection of the projects will be done on 20 and 21 October by the General Assembly of the AAL Association, i.e. the legal entity that is responsible for the AAL Joint Programme.
