Előzetes tájékoztató az ARTEMIS-2008-1 felhívásra beérkezett pályázatokról
The ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking is a public-private partnership that was created in February 2008 to operate an industrial R&D programme in the area of embedded computing systems. It launched its first call for proposals on 8 May 2008 with a public budget of almost 100 million; the call successfully closed on 3 September 2008.

The 27 proposals received correspond to a total amount of 323 M€ in research planned by the different consortia. They request around 170 M€ of public funding from the involved Member States and from the Joint Undertaking.

A total of around 397 participants out of 22 different European countries are involved in the proposals. All the major European players in Embedded Systems Research are included in this call; around 28% of the participations are from SMEs.

The ARTEMIS first Call has been successful in attracting both large strategic initiatives complemented with smaller more focussed research proposals. This combination was sought for in the ARTEMIS Work programme 2008 and the Embedded Systems constituency has responded positively to this. Proposals cover all 8 Sub-programmes in the ARTEMIS annual Work programme with a priority on Sub programmes 1, 3 and 5 as was foreseen.

Selecting for funding the proposals with the highest potential to generate successful projects with large industrial, economic and societal impact is the next important step. Results are expected end of October.
